SID. I really like them.


I know some people don't appreciate visual kei. They'll go like 'wtf?' when they see pictures of these bands. Nouns like 'gay', 'faggot', 'freak' and many others follow after that. They dont bother me. But it's kinda upsetting people wont listen to these bands just because of their image. And also, people sterotype their music as those filled with constant screaming and growling. Death vocals, like what Nick said. *laughs* It's not all screaming okay? There are death vocals occasionally. But i'm not a fan of them. Too much of it gives me a headache. But v-kei has great music too alright? You should take a listen.

The other day at Kino i got all excited when i saw some v-kei magazines. I grabbed a couple to browse at the counter. Su came over, saw the mags and she was like 'eww..'. Then she looked at me and said what was happening to me, like i was taking drugs for a period of time and now i was swallowing crack in front of her. Or like i just agreed to join a cult. Hmm.... >_<

V-kei is so interesting. I admit, sometimes i start listening to a particular band because i saw a picture of them online and i think they look pretty cute. Hm, cute isn't the word. Ok, their image attracted me. They're not called v-kei bands for nothing right? Then, i'll go get a couple of their songs and take a listen. Some are good, but others seriously, blah! Actually, there are a couple of bands whose pictures i have saved but i haven't checked out their music yet. *laughs* They look so pretty lah..

There are too many indie bands around for me to check out every single one of them. Although i wish i could. Ha. Anyway, despite all the new bands i discover as time passes, my top of the list will constantly include X-Japan, Alice 9, Gazette and Girugamesh.

Oh i managed to get all the songs from Girugamesh latest album. And they are damn good. I swear this is one band whom i listen to, and didn't dislike a single song in that whole album the first time i listened. Talented bunch. Satoshi(vocals) and Ryo(drums) are only like what, barely 22?

Anyway, talking about v-kei, it kinda irks me when i see bad v-kei cosplayers around. I know cosplayers spend loads of time and money on their costumes and stuff. But if you cant do it good, i'll rather you dont go out on the streets with that costume. Like poorly executed costumes slapped on with some gothic looking make-up. Ta-da! I'm Kyo from Dir en grey. Then when i read who they are cosplaying, imma like WTF? It's prolly only like 48% alike. Or those who cosplay someone whose height/built/size is far from yours. It turns me off when i see a fat Mana or a fat Miyavi. And i dont mean to be mean, but i dont like to see plump or overweight people in gothic lolita costumes. It might be cute, but no thanks.
